SMALL BHAIRAVA MASK.
Origin: Nepal. Kathmandu valley.
Date: 18th c.
Technique: Thin copper in repoussé with residue of red pigment.
Description: The face with three eyes and a beard ruffled around the open mouth with visible teeth is
elegantly stylized. The hair is twisted into spiraling, protruding curls and decorated
with a five-petaled, jeweled crown. On the forehead runs a double beaded band with small
skulls.
Measurement: 10x10cm.
