Condition:
Irregularly discoloured. Occasional minimal traces of handling. Verso remains and traces of an old mounting as well as irregular and spotted discolouration. Otherwise in good condition.
The sheet is probably a motif from the portfolio "La Ville", which Léger began in 1954. In 1959, Tériade published a portfolio with 29 motifs in collaboration with Fernand Mourlot and Nadia Léger based on the stones that the artist had made during his lifetime. The stones were signed by the artist and the portfolio was published in an edition of 180 copies. Not all 29 motifs are illustrated in Saphire.
