- As is often the case in Uecker's oeuvre, the work reflects the violation of human beings by other human beings. The raw physical act thus becomes a symbol of existential experience.
- The use of stones instead of nails makes this work unique in the artist's oeuvre.
- The seemingly peaceful title contrasts with the violent materiality of the image, creating a tense dialectic between destruction and creation.
