HORN PENDULUM ON CONSOLE.

Date: Ca. 1781-87.
Technique: Red horn with engraved brass inlays. Fire-gilded bronze.
Description: The console with ram ornamentation and - like the clock case - with fine, floral brass
inlays. The curved case on four rocaille feet, opening at the bottom with a view of the
pendulum and sound openings on the sides with floral openwork inserts. Fire-gilded bronze
applications on all sides and a vase finial at the top. A cover hinged at the bottom on
the back with remnants of a red seal. Large, round pendulum movement with verge escapement
and thread suspension, striking the hour on one bell, quarter strike on two bells,
repeater.
Measurement: Height including console 73cm, pendulum: 52x27x15cm.
Mark: On backpanel inscr. 'J. Robert et fils à la Chaux de Fonds' (1781-87, Loomes p.658), no.592.
