SIGNIFICANT SILVER AND COPPER CARRIAGE CLOCK.

Technique: Silver, copper, blued steel, gold-plated brass, enamel, etc.
Description: The open-fronted outer case has round sound openings on all sides and an inlaid floral
openwork ornament on the back. The clock case has a large support ring on a ball joint and
a hinged glass cover. Wide bands with slit-like sound openings and finely engraved
rocaille cartouches on the sides of the case and on the back, and flower stems on the
back. The enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, the hands finely pierced and
engraved with rocaille ornamentation. Central gilt alarm disc and chapter ring for the
date and alarm time with blued steel hands. 8-day movement with hour self strike, petite
sonnerie, quarter hour repeater. Gilt full plate movement, two chains and fusee for going
train and striking train, verge escapement, cylindrical movement pillars with lightly
laced centre, engraved barrel for repeater and another for alarm function. Three hammers
on a bell set into the back of the case.
