Notation: Monogrammed lower right: CH (lig.). Verso artist's estate stamp with the no. N-Z 60.
Frame/Pedestal: Mat (40 x 30cm).
Condition:
Sheet slightly discoloured in places, in mat window a little bit more discoloured. Bump at lower right corner. Occasional minimal traces of handling. Verso clearly and irregularly discoloured and mounted into the mat in two places. Otherwise good condition. Verso another pastel drawing with the same motif, not monogrammed.

The sheet is included in Karl Bernhard Wohlert's unpublished catalogue raisonné of watercolours and drawings by Karl Hofer under the numbers 1959 (recto) and 1960 (verso).
2008 VAN HAM Art Publications publishes the three-volume catalogue raisonné of Karl Hofer's paintings, compiled by Karl Bernhard Wohlert. In 2012 VAN HAM Art Publications founded the Karl Hofer Committee and in 2015 VAN HAM Art Publications presented the catalogue raisonné of the sketchbooks .
