Title: Frauenkopf mit Tuch.
Date: Ca. 1947/48.
Technique: India ink, washed on laid paper.
Measurement: 59 x 41cm.
Notation: Two estate stamps verso, of which one with number: N-Z62.
Frame/Pedestal: Mat (65 x 50cm).
Condition:
Sheet slightly discoloured in places, more distinctly discoloured under the mat window. Minimally wavy due to creation process. Slightly creased in upper right corner. Occasional minimal staining. Trace of paint at the centre left margin. Mounted on verso in two places as well as slightly foxed and disocloured, remains of an old mounting and occasional minimal foxing. On the reverse side is a cancelled print of the lithograph "Unter sich" (cat. rais. Rathenau, cat. rais. no. L103).

The sheet is included in Karl Bernhard Wohlert's unpublished catalogue raisonné of Karl Hofer's watercolours and drawings under no. 1667. 2008 VAN HAM Art Publications publishes the three-volume catalogue raisonné of Karl Hofer's paintings, compiled by Karl Bernhard Wohlert. In 2012 VAN HAM Art Publications founded the Karl Hofer Committee and in 2015 VAN HAM Art Publications presented the catalogue raisonné of the sketchbooks.
