BRONZE PENDULUM EMPIRE CLOCK WITH MYTHOLOGICAL DEPICTION.

Laroche. Paris

Date: 19th c.
Maker/Designer: Peter Huber.
Technique: Fire-gilded bronze.
Description: On a rectangular plinth with palmette relief, a tall pedestal with a mythological
depiction on an punched background. On top of this stands a figure of a hunter with bow
and arrow, at his feet one of his dogs, repeating the depiction from the pedestal relief.
The tall rectangular clock case with crest. Next to it is a round column with an oil lamp
and Cupid. The white enamel ring dial has a wreath of flowers and has fine guilloché in
the centre. Round 14-day pendulum movement with thread suspension and half-hour strike on
bell.
Measurement: 51x41x14cm.
Mark: On the front plate inscr. 'Laroche A Paris' (Tardy S.350).
