HEXAGONAL PORCELAIN TEA CADDY WITH 'INDIAN' FLOWERS AND STADLER CHINESE.

Meissen.
Date: Ca. 1730/35.
Maker/Designer: Decor J. E. Stadler.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours.
Description: Fine paintings of 'Indian' flower tendrils extending across the sides of the picture on
five of the six display sides. On one display side a large Chinese figure on a grey
plinth, which extends over the surrounding two wall panels. A flag at his back. A flying
bird at his head. The corresponding lid with ornamentation and cut 'Indian' flowers on the
wall. The top with a small Indian flower and two iron-red rings.
Measurement: Height 12,5cm.
Mark: Swords mark, overglaze blue.
