LARGE PORCELAIN ENSEMBLE "DIE LIEBESSCHULE".
Meissen.
Date: 19th c.
Maker/Designer: Model M.V. Acier.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours, painted in gold.
Description: On a large, rising rock base, in the centre the figure of Cupid with an arrow, quoting
from a book to a courtly lady standing behind him, three seated young gardeners and two
little girls, instructing them in love. The plinth beneath the book with rams' heads and
garlands of flowers.
Measurement: Height 29cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze. Model number F74, potters numbers 103 & 96, painter's number 1.
