PAIR OF OCTAGONAL DOUBLE-HANDLED PORCELAIN CUPS.
Meissen.
Date: Ca. 1730/35.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours.
Description: The octagonal mould on a round foot and the cups each with two curved handles. The walls
are decorated with kakiemon decor in bright overglaze colours with sprigs of peonies and
chrysanthemums. A flower branch in the centre of each cup. The rim of the cup is painted
in brown. An iron-red arrowhead decor is painted on the handle of one of the two cups.
Although the two cups are decorated differently, they were once part of the same service.
Measurement: Height 5/5cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze. Cameo mark with two parallel lines.
