PORCELAIN TEA MUG WITH TABLE DECOR AND SMALL TEA BOWL WITH KAKIEMON DECOR.

Meissen.
Date: Ca. 1730/40 resp. 1774.
Technique: Porcelain, painted blue under glaze and enriched in colours, partially golden.
Description: The tea cup with the so-called 'Tischchenmuster-Dekor', introduced by Höroldt in 1732, which shows a small table and a vase in the centre of the wall, depicted in underglaze blue decor. Magnificent branches with peonies and chrysanthemums sprout from these, depicted in bright onglaze colours.
A motif was presumably isolated from the Imari decor, which originally depicted a trellis with flowering shrubs.
The small bowl has a bulging shape and over-decorated flowers all round, some of which are accentuated with gold.
Measurement: Height 7/4cm.
Mark: Swords mark painted blue under glaze, once with Marcollini star. Cameo mark.

Provenance:
Bavarian private collection.
