PORCELAIN PLATE WITH LOBSTER DECOR.

Meissen.
Date: Ca. 1730/35.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours.
Description: In the centre of the mirror an underglaze-blue flowering shrub, in the throat red peony blossoms on a celadon ground with 'Indian' flowers. Opposite each other in the reserves are black and red lobsters. Three 'Indian' flowers on the rim. The rim with a lattice border in underglaze-blue.
The so-called lobster decor follows a Chinese model of the "famille verte" from the early 18th century.
Measurement: ø 22,5cm.
Mark: Swords mark painted blue under glaze. Cameo mark and indistinct blue painter's mark.
