PORCELAIN TEA CADDY WITH CARTRIDGES FOR PURCHASE.

Date: Ca. 1740/50.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours, golden and primed.
Description: Rectangular tea caddy with round lid. A cartouche with gold lustre and feather decoration
on each of the broad sides. Inside very finely painted merchant scenes. The narrow sides
show far-sighted merchant scenes with a large proportion of sky, corresponding to the
colour scheme of a sunset. The shoulder is gilt. The lid with golden ornamentation.
Measurement: Height 9,3cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze. (indistinct). Incised mark, gold painter's number.
