EMPIRE PORCELAIN CUP.

Nymphenburg.
Date: 19th century.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in gold and platinum.
Description: Footed bell-shaped cup with animal head handle; deep saucer. Cup and saucer with
ornamental and floral decor in etched platinum on golden fond. On the front side of the
cup a small cartouche depicting a chariot. Two similar depicitions, facing each other, on
saucer.
Measurement: Height cup 10cm, ø saucer 14,5cm.
Mark: Stamped mark, on saucer stamped 5 and XIX.


Condition:
Surface with age-related signs of wear such as rubbing, soiling and superficial scratches. Gold décor on the saucer scratched and rubbed off more severely in the area of the cup's stand space. On the outer wall of the cup larger, visible restoration of the gold and platinum décor.
