PAIR OF LARGE EMPIRE CANDELABRA WITH VICTORIAS.
Paris.
Date: 19th century.
Technique: Patinated and partially gilt bronze.
Description: A column, made of several segments, on a two-level square plinth as the base. The shaft
and the hemisphere on top of the column with finely chiseled blossom and feather decor. On
top of each hemisphere stands a winged Victoria. In her raised hands two intertwined
trumpets as four-flame candelabrums.
Measurement: Height each 62,5cm.

Closely related examples of this type of depiction include a pair of wall lights, executed by Claude Galle around 1809, which are today in the Munich Residence.
