Notation: Monogrammed and dated on right image edge below centre: P.Kl. 4. Februar 40. Once more monogrammed and dated lower centre: P.Kl. 40.
Frame/Pedestal: Framed.
Painted in February 1940 in La Varenne. The painting belongs to the larger context of the bar decoration planned by Kleinschmidt in 1938, which comprised nine to eleven pictures but was never completed.
