Mark: Inscribed verso "Phillipe" and "RuM".
After his graduation from the Academy of Arts in Berlin, Paul Philippe (1870-1930) moved to Paris. There he became a student of Antonin Larreux and regularly presented his works in the exhibitions of the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français. For his works he cooperated with various foundries. For example, with Les Neveux de Jules Lehmann, Goldscheider or, as in the case of this figurine, with Rosenthal & Maeder in Berlin.
