IRON CASSETTE WITH BIRD DECOR.
Presumably England.
Date: Late 17th c.
Technique: Iron, burnished, brass.
Description: Rectangular shape with rim and mock lock fittings on all sides. The hinged lid also with
leaf-shaped fittings, the corners with open-worked ornaments with birds, lined with
fabric. Hinged bow handle in the centre on wide straps. The lock cover can be opened by a
secret mechanism. The elaborate lock has four bolts and is covered with a finely engraved
brass plate. Key present.
Measurement: 13x21,5x16,5cm.
