VINAIGRETTE IN THE SHAPE OF A BOOK.
Probably Moulinié, Bautte & Cie. Genf.
Date: Around 1804-1826.
Technique: Yellow gold, seed pearls, polychrome enamel decor.
Description: On the outside of the book covers, the miniature case shows a small praying Amoretto and a
column postament with the Lamb of God, each in polychrome paintwork on blue translucent
ground. The edges are trimmed with a seed pearl frieze. Inside on one side, a "grille"
with finely openworked blossoms. In the back of the book a small pencil.
Weight: Ca. 35g.
Measurement: 4,5x3x0,5cm.
Mark: Geneva fineness unclear, Makers Mark "MB&C", probably for Moulinié, Bautte & Cie (1804-1826), number 159.
