LARGE SILVER AND SERPENTINE FLASK WITH VERMEIL MOUNTING.

Sachsen.
Date: Mounting Augsburg. 1679-1683.
Maker/Designer: Paul Solanier.
Technique: Gilt silver. Serpentine.
Description: High cylindrical body with octagonal layout and short, slightly curved shoulder. The edge
of the foot with twofoldly profiled mounting. Small screw threat with screw cap set on a
small neck ring with twofold profile and shallow arch relief. The flattened top with
hinged handle.
Measurement: Height (with handle down) 24,5cm.
Mark: Lid: inspection mark Augsburg 1679-1683 (Seling no.790), maker's mark Paul Solanier (1665-1724, ibid. no.1669).


Provenance:
Private collection southern Germany.
