Between 1992 and 1995, Sarah Schumann travels to Moscow five times, creating numerous works. The "western icons" Silvia Bovenschen and Marilyn Monroe are linked to the eastern metropolis, creating a dichotomy of western emancipation against a Soviet background. Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962) is depicted on this work.
