Origin: Japan.
Date: Late 19th century.
Technique:
Fine, beige ceramic with a transparent, fine crackle glaze. Decorated with coloured enamel and gold.
Description: Deep bowl with a convex wall and a flower-shaped, curved rim. In the center two round
cartouches with figural depictions on a spiral-shaped ground, shaped by a dense flower and
butterfly pattern. On the outside additional cartouches with figural depictions on a
background with dense flower and brocade pattern.
Measurement: Height 6cm/ ø 16cm.
Signature: Bottom marked with gold on black, square-shaped cartouche : Dai Nippon Matsumoto Hozan Kyoto.
