Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia. On loan to the Deutschen Schloss- und Beschlägemuseum Velbert from 2011 to 2025.
These types of Renaissance state rooms are highly sought after, not only because of the masterful craftsmanship and engraving of the pierced ceiling, both then and now. Their design also revealed the hidden mechanism beneath the otherwise closed ceiling and bears witness to the fascination of contemporaries in being able to follow and understand these mechanical processes.
