LARGE IRON CASSETTE WITH DENSE VINE DECOR.
South Germany.
Date: 16th c.
Technique: Iron with etched decor. Interior lined with purple silk velvet and silk moire.
Description: Smooth rectangular shape on four small, knob-shaped feet. Rectangular fields in ornamental
frames on all sides. Dense, floral tendrils in each of the fields. The elaborate, richly
etched lock with four bolts in the lid. Key present.
Measurement: 15x29,5x16,5cm.
Provenance:
Private collection Lower Rhine.
