TWO POTTERY SOLDIER FIGURES.
Origin: China.
Dynasty: Eastern Wei-dynasty.
Date: 534-550.
Technique: Beige tone with remains of polychromed glaze.
Description: Two upright standing figures that each hold an erected shield in front of them in their
left hand. In their right hand they probably held a sword once. Both are wearing armor as
well as helmets with long side flap common at that time.
Measurement: Hight each ca. 48cm.
Certificate:
Thermoluminescence test no. C199y54 Oxford Authentication Ltd. for one of the figures from 1999, present original. The dating coincides the resukts of the thermoluminiscence test.

Private collection North Rhine-Westphalia, purchased Kunsthandel Priestley & Ferraro, London.
