IMPORTANT ROCOCO COMMODE WITH THE PORTRAIT OF FREDERICK THE GREAT MADE OF NUTWOOD, ACORNWOOD A.O.
Presumably Potsdam.
Date: Around 1760-70.
Maker/Designer: Origin close to the Spindler workshop.
Technique: Nutwood, acornwood, mahogany and other woods polished, laid-in and in parts with engravings. Gilt fittings.
Description: Curved body on high legs. Two drawers. Slightly protruding, curved top. Blossoming twigs
in reserves, as well as portrait of Frederick the Great en profil in antique manner in the
center of the top.
Measurement: 79x93x48cm.
Mark: Railroad freight tag Brandenburg Düsseldorf on the back and handwritten inscription G.v.E. 275 Wehrhanstr. 34 Düsseldorf.
