The sometimes gestalt-like formal inventions in Bernard Schultze's paintings arise from a natural process of creation and decay. Even if Schultze subsequently gives his works titles such as "Tower and Guardian Animal", thereby suggesting a seemingly concrete object of contemplation, his works are always the result of autonomous artistic creation without predetermined subjects.
