ELEGANT SMALL CHEST FOR STORING MANUSCRIPTS.
Origin: Thailand.
Date: 19th c.
Technique: Wood with black lacquer and gold leaf. Inserted Lid and inside lacquered red.
Description: On a stepped base and the upper ledge set off. The box on front and back each divided with
ledges into three fields. In each field, also on the sides figures of the Ramayana on a
background of dense flames.
Measurement: H.29cm, w.78.5cm, d.23cm.
