LARGE SILVER PITCHER PRESUMABLY CHRISTENING WATER PITCHER.

Date: Around 1770.
Technique: Silver. Wooden handle.
Description: Round foot once indented. Large pear-shaped body, decorated with engraved and chased
floral tendrils and rocaille shapes. The top of the console spout designed as a stylized
animal head with eyes and nose. The highly arched hinged lid decorated with corresponding
floral décor and a raised bud knob.
Weight: Ca. 1190g.
Measurement: Height 30,5cm.
Mark: Solubility number 12, without Inspection mark, indistinct maker's mark.
Owners monogram "GH" with date 1770 engraved with dots.

Provenance:
Westphalian private collection.
