PORCELAIN VODKA CUP FROM THE SERVICE OF GRAND DUKE KONSTANTIN NIKOLAYEVICH.
Imperial Porcelain Manufacture. St. Petersburg.
Date: Period Nicholas I (1848-1855).
Maker/Designer: Model F. G. Solnzew, 1848.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours, golden.
Description: Small beaker with two ornamental handles. The mould slightly retracted and with a
projecting foot. One cartouche with the imperial double-headed eagle and one cartouche
with the monogram of the Grand Duke 'BKKH' opposite each other on the wall. Rich
ornamental pattern on the wall in the style of old Russian enamel work. Wide band with
gilding on the inside.
Measurement: Height 8cm.
Mark: Severely faded manufacture mark: Ligated monogram N I (Cyrillic) under crown. Painted blue under the glaze. Painter's mark, incised number 5.
