Date: 14th c.
Technique: Carved ivory. Mounted in frame.
Description: Rectangular reserved with canopy of Gothic pointed arches with tracery. Below, Mary on her
bed, holding her son's hand, with the elderly Joseph on the right. In the background, the
announcing angel and shepherds playing music. Originally certainly part of a diptych with,
presumably, the crucifixion of Christ as its counterpart.
Measurement: Dimensions of the relief plate: 8x6.5x0.7cm. Frame 25x24cm.
Mark: Verso inscribed and with collection's label.

Certificate:
The EU sales authorisation (CITES) has been obtained.

Provenance:
- Collection Vecht, Amsterdam.
- German private collection.
