WOODEN WRITING DESK WITH BAND INSERTS, LOUIS XV STYLE.

Date: Ca. 1750-60.
Technique: Kingwood, rosewood inlaid and polished. Fire-gilded bronze fittings.
Description: With curved legs, the five-drawer, slightly curved body with matching frame. When opened,
the slanted writing surface rests on two extendable rods. Inside, there are three storage
compartments in the centre, flanked by three drawers on each side. Underneath the middle
compartment, there is another storage compartment that can be secured with bolts.
Measurement: 105x111x56cm.
