PENDULUM CLOCK WITH BACCHANT.

Léplatenier. Paris

Date: Around 1800.
Technique: Gilt bronze.
Description: High rectangular base with acanthus leaf and with small bacchants and fern leaves on the
front. On it the quadrangular clock case with the fully sculpted figurine of a bacchante
with grapes in his right hand. A large crater vase on the right side of the case. Dial
with Roman numerals and Arabic minuterie. 14-day pendulum movement with thread suspension,
half-hour strike on bell.
Measurement: 51x38x12cm.
Mark: On dial inscr. "Léplatenier à Paris".
Enclosed: P&K.
